About 8ish the sun came out and as our wide natural path wiggled through the countryside we saw balls of mistletoe in the bare trees. We passed through Burguete, where Hemingway famously signed the piano, and in a deserted mountain village of honey yellow stone stopped for water and watched five cats, sitting in a line, on top of the woodpile. Three politely looked the other way while the tom forced himself on the fourth, her caterwaul the only sound in the village.
