This was a gentle walk and we were not dazzled by the views or delighted by the villages we passed through. Instead, we found an easy, relaxed rhythm that suited us very nicely, and I felt as if we had moved beyond the excitement of the first stage of the walk, onto a different level where a calmness had settled.
